About Intellective Web and Marcus Falley Consultant

History of a Search and Web Analytics Consultant

Intellective Web is the website developed and run by me, Marcus Falley, and the business name is Marcus Falley Consultant. I have been in the corporate internet and Intranet space for the last seven years in various roles at National Australia Bank and Coles Group, which is now owned by Wesfarmers. My roles have included:

  • Web Developer
  • Analyst Programer
  • Content Analyst
  • Web Information Analyst
  • Senior Operations Analyst
  • Senior Optimisation & Reporting Analyst
  • Senior Technical Analyst

Performing these roles in major Australian Enterprises has exposed me to some of the highest quality training and some of the greatest experts in the online world. This exposure along with hands on application of learning's has allowed me to develop a "How it all fits together" understanding of website design, website development, eCommerce, onsite search optimisation, enterprise search, content management systems (CMS), search engine optimisation (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), accessibility, usability, web analytics and so much more.

Why Intellective Web?

Intellective is defined as "derived from, or having intellect". It is all about understanding how to use what is known about a subject. In this case the subject is the web, websites and its users.

What now for Intellective Web and Marcus Falley Consultant?

I am now trying to share my knowledge with small to medium businesses, and small to medium web developers and web development companies to help improve the web in general as a place to research, socialise and purchase goods online.

I call myself a Search and Web Analytics Consultant for the benefit of my corporate and enterprise customers that will still use my services to avoid mistakes often made during large web projects.  These mistakes happen when they focus on uninformed business requirements and leave out the fundemental building blocks of a great website. One of the ways I make sure the building blocks are in palce during any web project, is to refer to my website development project checklist. I will publish this list elsewhere on my site.

Mission Statement

Share as much about the basic building blocks of website design and development and champion the concept of identifying measures of success with every web project and then reporting against those  measures to provide actionable information for stakeholders whocan then make informed decisions about there websites.
